We’re all on our own journeys to try and piece together our places in the world.  ConnecTreks seeks to maximize the natural connections between us and optimize the potential of each child, youth and family as they journey out of homelessness.

The AfterCare Program came into existence several years ago under the name “RoadWorks,” but only recently received the necessary funding to begin an ongoing effort.

Responding to the abominable increase in homelessness among children (some statistics site the percentage of homeless children at forty percent of all homeless persons), Meeting Ground initiated the AfterCare Program for Children, Youth, and Families in 2006.

Starting in 2007, the program took on the name and the concept of “ConnecTreks,” to emphasize that we’re all on an interconnected journey toward making a better, kinder, and more just society for every one of God’s children.

In doing so, we all have a way to fit into the larger picture.  The key to success in this program lies in the support and involvement that comes from the greater community.
