Here are some places our connected journeys have taken us in the past... |
|
Monday or Wednesday nights were craft nights at our two family-friendly facilities. Volunteer-led crafts and project activities were enjoyed by children and adults alike. |
|
Thanks to the efforts of an Elkton-area family, some children benefited from meeting and caring for some of our four-legged friends this past year. |

In connection with our visit with the congressman, the group had access to the House gallery, toured several Smithsonian buildings, and viewed this country’s most important documents at the National Archives. (Yes, according to the guards, SOME of the movie, National Treasure was filmed on site at the Archives — but not the interior shots, because they have to keep the lighting very dim to protect the documents — no flash pictures allowed!) |

Several times over the past year, U.S. Rep. Wayne Gilchrest (US-R, MD –1st) visit with the children and youth of Meeting Ground. In fall 2006, we visited the congressman at Turner’s Creek (Kent Co.), and he visited the farm for a Harvest Festival. In July 2007, the group visited Rep. Gilchrest and his staff at his D.C. office just before he cast a crucial vote on the House floor (we have a video of his speech!). |

Thanks to the talents and dedication of a Cecil County Public Schools music teacher, children and youth at Wayfarer’s House learned some basic keyboarding techniques this past school year. |

FAMILY DAY PICNIC AND 25-YR CELEBRATION |
|
On June 10, 2007, the Meeting Ground community, including current and former residents and long-time supporters, and AfterCare program participants enjoyed a fun-filled day of celebration at Clairvaux Farm in Earleville. A moon bounce, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn machine, and a pig roast delighted young and old alike. The crowd consumed much good food, and the weather cooperated fully. We’re looking for-ward to the 30th year celebration! |
