Former congressman Wayne Gilchrest hosted a group of 17 children from Meeting
Ground for an open-air "library" nature and history hike to Turners Creek Park
in Kent
County, Maryland. The children were encouraged to experience the environs
of the
Chesapeake Bay much like the Indians or the original European settlers would
have.
The outing was the first in a series of three this summer, which the children
are eagerly
anticipating! Our summer intern, Samantha Eklund, did an excellent job of
organizing!
