Don Vermilyea served as a Brethren volunteer at Meeting Ground in 2001 and 2002.  While he was with us he "practiced" walking daily, gradually increasing his distances and weight carried.  He left from Meeting Ground in February, 2002, taking the bus to Tucson, Arizona to begin his walk across America.  We have been proud and count it as a privilege to have Don share the spirit and narrative of his journey in the pages of Loaves & Fishes.

Update:  The Walk Across America has officially ended.June 11, 2006
