Other Events to note:

Last week (Nov. 14-21) was National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, but any and all weeks are good weeks to be aware of hunger and homelessness. According to Teresa Schooley, Kids Count project director in Delaware, 21.6% of our nation's children live in poverty!

Watch for further information about National Homeless Memorial Day, on Dec. 21.

A concert to benefit Meeting Ground on January 5, 2000, at 7:30 p.m.
at First and Central Presbyterian Church, Rodney Square, Wilmington, Delaware

Meeting Ground Volunteer May Yokoyama's daughter, Kimi Whipple, will be soprano soloist, one of four outstanding musicians performing classical music that evening.

Thank you to May Yokoyama for the furniture that has been added to make our downstairs more attractive and comfortable.

Thanks to all the residents and volunteers who readied the Nov.-Dec. issue of Loaves and Fishes for mailing, who helped Lynn Rodden package herbs for sale, who organized the storage of clothing, baby supplies, office materials and household goods, the labors that improve our life together. And the ongoing cleaning, cooking and other household chores that are so necessary are appreciated , too!
Correction: We omitted Pat Hughes and Barb Dugan in the mention of those who made lunches for the Marchers in October.

The following letter to the editor is taken from a recent issue of the Cecil Whig:

"Bravo to Gov. Parris Glendening and his wife, Frances, and the new group, Neighborhood Youth Panel.
Hope is being instilled in the young, very impressionable minds of our youth who have made a wrong turn in their young lives.
Teens are the heartbeat of tomorrow's leaders. As a community, we need to offer them guidance vital to them during this difficult time in their lives.
Our pencils have erasers on them to remove our mistakes so we can start over agin and right the wrong.
Again, I say, bravo."
